VELLUM LOGO IDENT

This was a collaborative experimental project between 9 Limits and Vellum, a Bristol based music producer with an avid interest in sound design. Vellum has been producing music for over 15 years and his vast knowledge of electronic audio production lends itself very well to motion graphics and CG.

We were invited to host a talk at a motion graphics meet-up group called Showreel & Tell organised by Lewis Darby from Yard B Studios. It is a platform for motion graphics artists to network, showcase their work and share inspirations and processes with the community. It is very much up to each artist to decide how they present themselves and select the content they include.

This was a good enough reason to set ourselves a challenge and collaborate with another artist and 3.5 weeks seemed like a big enough window to explore some new processes and execute an experimental short in time for the presentation. In this time we were able to explore some new processes using C4D, Octane Render and Thinking Particles alongside some interesting work with abstract narrative structures and bespoke typography.
